Who’s Pla Sankhum

PLA SANKHUM is a business student turned librarian, turned preschool assistant, and speaker of three languages: English, Thai, and Laos. While she enjoys interactions with students and professionals, creating and maintaining library systems, and now playing with, educating, and learning from preschoolers, she plans to return to University to finish her first degree and eventually continue to further her education. At this time, she is soaking up every piece of professional development she can.

She comes from a different background than a typical North American or European with a humble upbringing in rural North-East Thailand. From there she moved to the thriving metropolis of Bangkok where she learned the ins and outs of working in and owning businesses. Many of her stories are those of hardship, but through and through she has proven to be a street-smart survivor.

Pla has passion for: Food, especially Thai and Isaan, Volleyball, Ping-Pong, Renaissance and Impressionistic Art, Great Music, Light-Hearted Funny Movies, Picnicking, Cooking, and her husband, Tom, but especially Mickey Thomas, her son.
